The position of Facilities Manager is currently vacant. The Facilities Manager will report directly to the Chief Corporate Services Officer and form part of the Corporate Services Division.

The total remuneration package for this position will be R740 577- 925 686 negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

The Facilities Manager  will provide support to the Chief Corporate Services Officer  on the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Plan and Maintain the office infrastructure for healthy work environment;

  • Manage Technical Service Contracts and Service Level Agreements;

  • Manage Green Building rating compliance and document process;

  • Manage and maintain the buildings sustainable features;

  • Establish work procedures and processes for all technical, soft services and business support functions;

  • Accountable for planning, scheduling, monitoring and execute all maintenance related aspects, building information management systems, planned inspections and auditing of building(s) within the portfolio;

  • Assess and mitigate risk.

Qualification and skill requirements are:

  • A degree/diploma in environment-related subject or a degree in a related discipline. A relevant post graduate degree will be advantageous;
  • 1 year experience in Green Building Facilities Management and 3 years Facilities Management experience;
  • A working knowledge of building management, preventative maintenance programs, mechanical equipment, air conditioning, fire systems, emergency power and the OHS Act;
  • Preferably registered with South African Facilities Management Association (SAFMA);
  • Analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to see the implications for the bigger picture;
  • Organisation, time management, prioritising and the ability to handle a complex, varied workload
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Be computer literate on advanced level
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Have strong negotiation skills
  • Have resilient stress management abilities
  • Ability to provide advice and engage with various stakeholders
  • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license and own vehicle and be willing to travel at short notice.
