The role of the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee (HRRC) is to assist the Board of Trustees of the Government Employees Medical Scheme (Board) to ensure that:
1.1. Board of Trustees (Trustees), Independent committee members, Executives and employees are remunerated fairly, responsibly and transparently so as to promote the creation of value in a sustainable manner and with the long-term interests of the Scheme in mind;
1.2. The Scheme’s remuneration report and disclosure of trustee, independent committee member and executive remuneration is stated in plain language, accurate and complete in keeping with reporting standards applicable to the Scheme;
1.3. Effective remuneration policies that articulate and give effect to the Board’s strategic direction on fair, responsible and transparent remuneration are in place and applied consistently;
1.4. Effective HR Management policies and systems are in place, aligned with the Scheme’s employee value proposition and are applied consistently throughout the Scheme at all employee levels;
1.5. Oversee Procurement matters according to delegated authority;
