The position of Corporate Editor is vacant. The Corporate Editor will report directly to the Senior Manager: Marketing and Communication and forms part of the Member Service and Experience Division. The position is permanent and based at Head Office in Pretoria.
The Corporate Editor will be required to provide support to the Member Service and Experience Division through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
• Provide high quality writing and editing services in support of the organisational business objectives of the Scheme;
• Help enforce and promote understanding of the Corporate Identity Manual;
• Develop and review content for dissemination to members and stakeholders;
• Provide high quality editorial services for all communication collateral intended for members and stakeholders;
• Ensure Scheme communication messages are clear, simplified and effective, using a high impact writing style and format;
• Create specific communications that support the communication of corporate messages which aids the Scheme in driving engagement, and deliver results;
• Collaborate with internal business units to meet the Scheme’ communication objectives by correcting factual, grammar and spelling mistakes;
• Support the Scheme in editing accurately and efficiently in keeping with the business language to deliver a strong member and stakeholder messages;
• Read documents to ensure that they are offered to the recipient in a logical way; and
• Review and edit content intended for distribution on various communication channels or platforms.
Qualification requirements are:
• A Diploma/Post-Graduate Diploma in Communication, Languages, or similar qualification;
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in copy writing and editing services;
• Experience in copy writing and editing for medical aid scheme will serve as an advantage;
• Have the proven ability to craft key messages related to stakeholder communication;
• Have outstanding listening and communication skills both written and oral;
• Proficiency in English;
• The ability to perform under pressure and handle a high workload;
• Be an expert writer in internal and external communications that are creative, engaging and informative;
• Be adaptable, proactive, deadline driven, results orientated, highly organised and detail orientated;
• Willingness to work after hours;
• Work hand in hand with the Member Service and Experience teams to synergize corporate messaging;
• Enjoy working in a fast paced professional environment;
• Be a self-starter, able to work with general direction and exercise independent judgement; and
• Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance to applicable legislation, and GEMS Policies and Procedure
Strong understanding of the Healthcare and Medical Scheme Industry (highly advantageous)

The ICT Integration Specialist will be required to participate in the planning, coordination, and solution development and implementation activities related to the integration of applications and technologies within the organizations application integration environment. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, proficiency in programming languages and data structures, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role and providing support to the SM: Applications Development through the following KPA’s:

- Develop and maintain services used in application integrations.
- Design integration solutions and document the design in accordance with best practices.
- Work with development teams to architect, design, build, and implement application integrations.
- Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and integration with system front end components.
- Write PL-SQL code to retrieve appropriate data as derived from requirements.
- Build reports and/or data extracts to support business analysis.
- Support development on resolving system defects, acting as liaison in developing solutions.
- Coordinate directly with business analyst to best understand and analyze application integration business specifications.
- Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration errors.
- Assist application software developers and engineers in development of Application Program Interface (APIs) to interact with the application integration environment
- Design, develop, and deploy solutions within the organization’s architectural principles, policies, and guidelines
- Continually develop skills in the integration technologies in place in the AI environment, as well as staying informed on new developments in integration technology.
- Implement audit, logging, and monitoring solutions to provide proactive operational support in the AI environment.
Qualification requirements are:
- National diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information technology, information systems or relevant degree
- Application Integration Certification is must.
- Experience in Application Integration role is a must.
- Full systems development life cycle experience.
- Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in Application Architect.
- Certification in Application Integration is a must.
- Systems Development Lifecycle Management is essential. Project Management is an advantage.
- Knowledge of HealthCare Solution is an advantage.
- Competency with XML constructs and schemas.
- Technically fluent in programming languages, including .Net environment/ platform
- Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping
