Maternity Programme

Pregnancy is an extraordinary experience, perhaps one of the most defining life experiences. GEMS members and dependants who conceive have access to the Maternity Programme. The GEMS Maternity Programme is a comprehensive programme for both the pregnant member and their support network.

We aim to provide our members with the support, education and advice they need through all stages of their pregnancy, the confinement and post-natal (after birth) period. The Programme will also support your healthcare practitioner and workplace support colleague (HR Practitioner or Manager) if you choose to nominate one, by providing them with the necessary tools to support you along this journey.

The Maternity Programme is headed by experienced, registered nursing sisters with additional qualifications in midwifery, who serve as case managers. You can contact the case managers on 0800 00 4367 for advice, more information and assistance with registering for the Maternity Programme.

To qualify for the GEMS Maternity Programme, you must:

  • Be a registered member of GEMS or a dependant of the registered member;
  • Have a confirmed pregnancy; and
  • Register on the programme as early as possible after the pregnancy confirmation to ensure full access to benefits.

Late registrations may result in limited access to some benefits. Members are encouraged to register during the first trimester.
