NOTIFICATION FOR BRIEFING SESSION EXTENTION 

GEMS/GRCSystem/2023/CON012

APPOINTMENT OF A SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THE SUPPLY, IMPLEMENTATION, SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE GOVERNANCE, RISK & COMPLIANCE (GRC) SOLUTION FOR GEMS WITH ONE (1) YEAR SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE WHICH CONTRACT MAY BE ANNUALLY RENEWABLE FOR TWO (2) MORE YEARS.

GEMS has advertised the tender for GEMS/GRCSystem/2023/CON012 with the incorrect closing date of 18 October 2023. Due to a technical problem we encountered during a briefing session on 18 October 2023, the new briefing session date is 01 November 2023 from 10h30-12h00Attendees joining the session more than 15 minutes after the starting time noted i.e. after 10h45 will be deemed not to have attended the briefing session.

Prospective service providers are required to notify the relevant person Gerald Chriwa at the respective email address at CON012.23GRCSystem@nexia-sabt.co.za, before 10h00 on 30 October 2023 whether they will attend the briefing session. Bidders will be provided with a link to connect and join the session on confirmation of attendance.  Attendees must have their own copies of the bid document in the briefing session. 

The new closing date for this bid is 15 November 2023 at 11h00am.

Invitation to small businesses in the Healthcare Industry to participate in the GEMS Procurement Advice Centre (PAC) initiative

The Government Employees Medical Scheme (GEMS) was registered in terms of the Medical Schemes Act 131 of 1998 with effect from 1 January 2005 and commenced member enrolment on 1 January 2006. The registered office of the Scheme is based in the Menlyn Maine Precinct, Pretoria.

GEMS is dedicated to enhancing its transformation initiatives and supporting small businesses looking to enter the competitive procurement landscape or wishing to increase their competitiveness in the procurement environment. GEMS is equally committed to promoting procurement compliance among companies interested in responding to GEMS and other tenders.

GEMS has therefore implemented a Procurement Advice Centre (PAC) to promote providers’ procurement competitiveness.

GEMS would like to extend an invitation to small businesses* in the Healthcare Industry to participate in the Procurement Advice Centre's Tender Training and Supplier Database Registration Coaching Program, initiated by GEMS.

The program support interventions span a maximum duration of six (6) months, during which you will participate in various online training sessions and complete tender exercises.

Interested small businesses are required to provide GEMS with their contact information, company profile, and a valid B-BBEE certificate, which must be submitted to only the email address of ProcAdviceCentre@gems.gov.za for consideration. GEMS reserves the right not to place an applicant on the Program in its sole discretion.

*Small businesses are defined as EMEs/ QSEs with at least 51% Black ownership or at least 30% Black Women ownership.

Tenders closing dates put on hold( CON001-CON003 ) due to Nation wide Lockdown period

GEMS has advertised the 3 below mentioned tenders with their respective closing datesDue to the national lockdown the closing dates indicated below  has been put on hold until further notice.

GEMS/Publication&Printing/2020/CON001- Closing date 7 April 2020;

GEMS/Comms&MarketingAgency/2020/CON002 – Closing date 7 April 2020 ;and

GEMS/PromotionalMaterial/2020/CON003  Closing date 8 April 2020.

 

Bidders will be given at least a one week notice period once the new closing date has been determined.

 

We have also further extended the query closing date from 15 April 2020 to 23 April 2020. Queries received by 12h00 noon on 23 April 2020 will be responded to by 15h00 on 30 April 2020.

 

Service providers can check these tenders on the GEMS website under Tender history, past tenders.

 

Furthermore , in line with the communication that was issued to service providers on 17 March 2020, a briefing session presentation was shared with all service providers. Such communication was limited to the service providers who have provided their contacts details to GEMS through the following mechanisms: 

a.Those who have requested the bid document;

b.Those who initially confirmed their attendance of the compulsory briefing session;

c.Those who did not request any bid document or confirmed attendance and thus did not receive our cancellation email but who has opted to go directly to  the briefing session venue; provided that  they complete the attendance register indicating that they arrived at the venue even though the briefing session did not take place.

 

The service providers who have not provided their contact details to GEMS through any of the above mentioned mechanisms  and wishes to participate in this tenders can do  so requesting the bid documents in writing  from the noted persons indicated in the adverts.
